Show Low is the gateway to Arizona’s White Mountains and the quality of life here is unequaled anywhere.  The area is famous for its world class hunting and fishing opportunities.   Wildlife common to the area includes deer, elk, bear, antelope, mountain lion and turkey.  There are over 2,000,000 acres of National Forest land adjacent to Show Low and over 50 lakes and streams in the immediate area.  Camping and hiking are popular activities.  The Show Low and White Mountain trail systems are the pride of the community and provide over 120 miles of trails for hiking and biking.  Skiing buffs can take advantage of Arizona’s premier skiing destination, Sunrise Park Resort.  Sunrise Park Resort is located a short 36 miles from Show Low and offers 65 runs and 10 chair lifts.  The resort also offers separate snowboarding and cross country ski areas. Sunrise Park Resort is also a summer paradise with activities including scenic lift rides, downhill mountain biking and the largest Zip Line Tour in Arizona.

Show Low is a summertime golf Mecca.  Visitors and residents alike enjoy golfing in cool 75 degree weather on seven area courses.  The master-planned communities of Torreon and Bison Golf and Country Club both offer homes that open up to the golf greens.

Tennis, basketball, baseball and volleyball are readily available in over 85 acres of City owned parks throughout the community.  These parks are surrounded by an abundance of U.S. Forest Service land and the largest stand of ponderosa pine in the U.S.  The Show Low Aquatic Center is an indoor facility that offers a 6-lane 25-yard pool, an adjoining zero-depth pool with water slide and spray fountain, and an indoor spa.

Show Low offers access to a variety of arts & entertainment groups and venues.  The Silver Creek Performing Arts Association sponsors and hosts local theaters and choirs, as well as a number of special events.  The Silver Creek Little Theatre and the Silver Creek Community Choir are part of the association and offer diverse performances of classic and modern works.  The White Mountain Symphony performs a varied array of productions throughout the year.

A popular site for entertainment in the area is the Hon Dah Resort Casino and Conference Center.  The award-winning casino houses slot machines, Blackjack tables and a Poker room.  The center also offers live entertainment six nights a week.

Show Low hosts a number of community events throughout the year.  Perhaps the biggest event is Show Low Days which features western themed activities, live entertainment, arts & crafts vendors, kid’s amusement area, Derby Down the Deuce and thousands of attendees each day.  The Fourth of July FreedomFest is held each year and features a parade, arts and crafts, food, games, entertainment and a fireworks show.  Show Low is home to the largest farmer’s market in the White Mountains—the Show Low Main Street Farmer’s Market & Art Walk—held each Saturday throughout the summer.  Show Low also hosts the annual Show Low Battle of the Bands and Vans on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend and the Spooktacular Festival each year on the Saturday before Halloween.
